Venice, Italy and Venice, Florida. Two beautiful cities on the water with thousands of miles between them, but a common bond in their wonderful architectural style. For Venice is a charming example of one of the best-kept secrets of Gulf Coast Florida.

The real charm of Venice is its charm. The charm of its unique downtown shopping district including a Mall in a renovated 1920's hotel. The charm of its neat quiet neighborhoods, many of them laid out in the 20's when the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers used its monies to hire an architect to design what became one of the first modern planned communities. And "historically charming" is a way to describe the Venice Train Depot which greeted thousands of airmen during World War II and later welcomed the Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus at its winter headquarters.

Charming and culturally active, since the city hosts The Venice Theatre, one of the foremost regional theatres in the U.S. and a mainstay of the community since 1950. And then there's the Venice Symphony, a professional orchestra with deep ties to the community. To say nothing of the hundreds of clubs and organizations which make the community... a community.

And there are the gorgeous beaches: North Jetty, Venice Municipal, Caspersen (the longest beach in Sarasota County) and Nokomis. Nokomis? Yes, because the Venice area is really five communities: Osprey, Laurel, Nokomis, the city, and South Venice.

Bottom line:  Venice is one of a kind – a warm, friendly area where the quality of living is unsurpassed, whether you desire a beachfront condo, an estate on the water, or a home or villa with the amenities of a gated neighborhood. They're all here, so take a look around and we may well find the home of your dreams.
